We produce by taking advantage of the original classic and irregular texture of leather.
Horween is a tenary with more than 100 years of tradition in Chicago, USA. Cordovan leather of Horween, which can be said to be the pride of American leather, is a leather made by vegetable-tanned leather from a horse's buttocks for more than 6 months. The dense tissue of the horse's buttocks is called a shell, and this type of leather is called a shell cordovan. Cordovan leather is characterized by a elegant gloss, and is a leather with outstanding recovery through care.
Shell cordovan and Chromexcel are famous leathers representing Horween. Chromexcel leather is a leather rich in unique gloss and oiliness, and is extremely durable, so it was used as a part to protect tank engines in the past. Currently, it is widely used in boots and shoes. Chromexcel leather is a composite tanned leather that has been applied both vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned. When processing leather, it completely deposited in wax and oil, giving it very good touch and oily feeling.
We use Bridle leather from J&E Sedgwick in the UK. Bridle leather is the leather used to make saddles for horses in the UK and is a durable leather that lasts for over 100 years. Tallow, a white film created from cow fat and oil extracted from shellfish, covers the surface of the leather. It has a natural look for long hours of processing to allow the tallow to permeate, and with use, the tallow gradually peels off to give it a tremendous gloss. It is a cowhide that replaces Cordovan, and it is said that a processing method similar to Cordovan was used.
We use the leather of Crocodile, which lives mainly in the Nile River. The more you use it, the more luxurious it becomes, and the texture of the natural crocodile shows a different level of quality than the crocodile-patterned cowhide. We select and use high-grade crocodile leather that are not scratched.
